The membership of this Society shall consist of those who are interested in genealogical research and are willing to uphold and perpetuate the purposes and policies of the Society.
Section 2. Membership Application
Application for membership in this Society shall be made on the form provided by the Society. Such application, accompanied by payment of dues, shall be returned to the Membership chair.
Section 3. Membership Rights and Responsibilities
All active members of this Society shall be entitled to all rights and privileges of the Society and all members shall share in its responsibilities. These responsibilities shall include support of the Society’s purposes and constructive contribution to its programs and activities.
Section 4. Member Conduct
Any member conducting himself or herself in a way calculated to disturb the harmony of the Society or to injure its good name or to hamper it in its work may, upon charges being filed, be reprimanded, suspended, or expelled from the Society by a majority of Board members voting at a regular or special meeting of the Board.
Section 5. Classes of Membership
Membership in this Society shall be divided into the following classes:
- Basic Individual – one (1) person.
- Contributing Individual – one (1) person who donates an amount beyond membership dues as determined by the Board of Directors.
- Sustaining Individual – one (1) person who donates an amount beyond membership dues as determined by the Board of Directors.
- Joint – Two (2) individuals residing in the same household.
- Contributing Joint – Two (2) individuals residing in the same household who donate an amount beyond membership dues as determined by the Board of Directors.
- Sustaining Joint – Two (2) individuals residing in the same household who donate an amount beyond membership dues as determined by the Board of Directors.
- Student – one person under the age of 25 currently enrolled in school with a student identification. Student membership dues will be half of the individual membership dues.
- Organization – Libraries, societies, and other organizations. Organization member benefits are limited to receipt of the Quarterly and Newsletter of the Society.
- Individual lifetime membership.
- Honorary Individual – Individual one year membership given by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.
- Honorary Life – Individual lifetime membership given by a majority vote of the membership at a regular or special meeting.
